The Clos des Ambres is a selection from a part of l’Ormeau where the soils are stonier and the water table is lower, and which thus ripens before the rest of the vineyard. Notes of citrus pith, tart pear, crème pâtissière and a framing of light reduction are followed by a glossy, elegantly sapid, medium-full wine which is quite open-knit and giving in 2016. (WK) - DC
