One of the paler colours, as is often the case chez Drouhin, but still a fresh pale crimson. The bouquet is exquisitely charming, some peony notes, delicacy and indeed intricacy, the goblins are tiptoeing from one end of the universe to the other (borrowed from E.M Forster, Howard's End). A little bit firmer on the palate as the oak kicks in. The palate does not quite match the bouquet for intensity or charm, but does deliver impressive length. More to come, I think. The bouquet is easily worth four stars, the palate closer to three. - JM
